Duct Leakage Testing Leesburg
Duct Leakage Testing
Duct leakage testing measures how much conditioned air escapes from a home’s duct system before it reaches the living space. This diagnostic test is essential for verifying that ducts are sealed properly, especially in new construction where energy code compliance is required.
The test involves pressurizing the duct system using a calibrated fan to measure the rate of air leakage. This allows us to determine whether the ductwork meets the maximum allowable leakage rates set by energy codes or performance programs.
Beyond code compliance, duct leakage testing plays a vital role in achieving high-performance building certifications such as ENERGY STAR for Buildings, LEED, Zero Energy Ready Home, NGBS, and others. It’s also a valuable tool for homeowners and HVAC professionals looking to diagnose airflow problems, comfort issues, and wasted energy.
We are certified by the Building Performance Institute (IDL, BA-T, BA-P) and are a Virginia-licensed Residential Building Energy Auditing Firm. Whether you’re a builder needing testing for an entire subdivision, a contractor closing out a permit, or a homeowner trying to improve comfort and efficiency–we provide professional-grade duct leakage testing to meet your goals and ensure your system performs as designed. Certified testing in the Leesburg, Gordonsville, Crozet, Earlysville, Ruckersville, Stanardsville, Palmyra, Bumpass, Louisa, Mineral, Madison, Orange and surrounding communities.
