Our Story
Welcome to The Vent Guys! We were founded in 2013, under the name The Vent Guys, by Kyle Newby in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Our journey began humbly—with just a pickup truck, a handful of essential tools, and the bold dream of filling a critical gap in local home services. Recognizing that no one in our area specialized in dryer vent solutions, Kyle set out to master this niche industry and elevate standards for dryer vent safety and efficiency.
Through meticulous study of appliance manufacturer requirements and rigorous experimentation with various products and equipment, Kyle quickly developed industry-leading expertise. His dedication to continuous improvement and unwavering commitment to best practices rapidly positioned The Vent Guys as the premier dryer vent service provider in Central and Northern Virginia.
In 2023, our scope expanded to care for all ductwork and their associated equipment. Our region needed a company to focus on HVAC mechanical systems the way we focus on dryer vents – that is, with specialization and craftsmanship that prioritizes our clients’ best interests. We achieved this by launching a new division that focuses exclusively on HVAC hygiene, indoor air quality, and duct system optimization. An especially unique area of emphasis in this division is our ability to also clean mini-split units. This is a specialize subset within the division, optimizatizing the hygeine and efficiency of mini-splits which are notorious for poor performance and microbial growth due to a lack of expert maintence.
In 2025, our scope expanded further into building performance testing–duct leakage testing, blower door testing, energy auditing, and mold testing. Yet again, as we expanded our services, we maintained our specialization without diluting our quality in other areas. This budding division focuses on the increased concerns for energy code compliance, home comfort, and indoor air quality testing.
In 2026, we realized that it was time to rebrand in order to better reflect our expanded scope of specialized services. Although bittersweet, changing our name from The Vent Guys to The Vent Guys was a natural decision as we move operations forward toward continued excellence.
